Meet Karen Newburg: LHH-H's Senior Estate Planning Attorney

.At Long Hagan Huff-Harris, we’re proud to highlight Attorney Karen M. Newburg, a Senior Associate in our Estate Planning department. Karen first joined the firm in 2020, bringing a wealth of experience and empathy to our Family Law and Estate Administration department. After expanding her expertise as an Estate Administrator at Hemenway & Barnes in Boston, Karen rejoined our team in 2024 to focus on estate planning, driven by a personal and professional passion for helping families protect their futures.

Karen’s dedication to estate planning stems from her own life experience. After losing her father less than a year after becoming an attorney, she witnessed the devastating effects of an incomplete and outdated estate plan. This experience shaped her commitment to guiding her clients in creating thorough and effective plans, ensuring that their loved ones avoid similar hardships.

Karen’s legal journey began at a boutique estate planning firm in Connecticut. Upon moving to Massachusetts, she broadened her practice at a general law firm in Wellesley, where she represented clients in estate planning and estate administration, real estate transactions, civil litigation, and family law.

Karen holds a J.D. (cum laude) from Saint Louis University, an M.S. in Healthcare Administration from the University of New Haven, and a B.A. from Williams College. She is admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and Connecticut.

When not at work, Karen enjoys life in Norwood with her husband and three sons. She is an avid reader and a fan of New Haven pizza, Taskmaster, and the Great British Baking Show.
